One of the few seed oils that contains both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, boasting one of the highest concentrations of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) among all natural oils (approximately 75%). Furthermore, it features a highly physiological 3:1 ratio of omega-3 to omega-6. The oil exhibits a broad spectrum of dermatological effects:
- reduces transepidermal water loss (TEWL);
- strengthens the skin’s lipid barrier;
- possesses anti-inflammatory and anti-pruritic properties;
- regulates sebum production;
- is utilized in the treatment of psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.
